Workshop IV: RBF deep-dive: Capturing learnings to feed future RBF design & implementation
- Enabling investments
Applications available from 1 Mar 2026, 06:00 to 15 Apr 2026, 06:00
Results Based Financing (RBF) has become a key instrument in energy access market development programmes and is expected to play an important role in achieving the ambitions of Mission 300. While there are plenty of lessons learned from RBF design and implementation over the past years, well documented in reports, new RBF initiatives often still face similar challenges.
This session will share lessons learned from 10+ years of experience in RBF design and implementation, in flagship RBF facilities including BRILHO/Mozambique, KOSAP/Kenya and BGFA/Zambia. Following an introduction of these cases, focusing on key lessons learned, we will break into groups to discuss key challenges in RBF design and implementation. Outcomes of these discussions are expected to feed into joint learning and coordination efforts towards a more standardised RBF practice, aimed to inform the design of future RBF facilities.
This workshop is fully booked.
