My organisation
Set up in 1976, Geres is an international development NGO which works to improve the living conditions of the poorest and tackle climate change and its impacts. As a grassroots actor, the energy transition is a major lever in all its actions. In order to drive societal change, Geres promotes the development and dissemination of innovative and local solutions, works on the off-grid access to electricy, on efficient cooking solutions and energy efficiency in the building sector.
Geres has been involved in the PURE sector for 10 years. It has developed the Electrified Business Areas (minigrids dedicated to productive uses of energy) concept. Geres partners with minigrids developers and operators to improve the access for PUE, considering technical, economical and social issues. It also brings a dedicated capacity building program to local entrepreneurs electrified by off-grid solutions.
About me
Engineer specialized in access to energy. I've been working in the sector for over 10 years, in Madagascar, West Africa and South-East Asia. I joined GERES in 2018 as an expert on energy access and energy transition issues. I am mainly involved in projects facilitating the connection of PUEs to minigrids and economic development activities.
