Mobility for Africa is registered in Mauritius with a project company that Zimbabwe. It aims to transform rural African agriculture through the deployment of efficient, cost-effective, carbon-friendly electric mobility solutions and bring the electric mobility revolution to rural Africa. The company manages E-tricycles, operating through off-grid battery swapping system using mini grids providing shared last mile transport and mechanized power tools to small scale farmers in a 30 km radius. Mobility for Africa is at the forefront of sustainable rural transportation with our award-winning, solar-powered E-tricycles, specifically engineered for the African terrain. Our model is designed not only to offer affordable last-mile mobility and mobile energy solutions but also to empower communities by putting women at the center of our solution. Imagine the impact on millions of rural farmers, women, and children who, due to lack of mobility, struggle with access to markets, healthcare, and education.  As a pioneer in rural electric mobility and mobile energy in Africa, Mobility for Africa is driving a transformation that addresses the immense demand for affordable, sustainable transport along with productivity use energy in underserved rural communities using renewable off grid energy. Our green mobility -as-a-service model is targeted for rural household farmers many of them who serve larger-scale agriculture clients through contract farming, we provide them with both mobility along with mobile energy tools that can increase productivity, save countless hours of their day, and transform rural economies.

About me

Shantha Bloemen, Founder & CEO of Mobility for Africa, is an entrepruener that is convinced we can change the women move with putting women in the driver's seat. Originally Australia, where she studied in African history, she has spent more than three decades working in the continent as well as in the US and Asia. She has a master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and an honours degree in History from University of Western Australia.
